The new challenge up at Cricut Cardz Challenge this week is for a Mother's Day card using any cartridge with the colors pink, green and white. I used Designer's Calendar for the Mom's Day sentiment and Home Decor for my image. My patterned paper is from DCWV Baby Girl Nursery stack, the green dotted paper is from Bazzill. This is a 6 1/2" x 5" card. The green strip is cut at 1 1/2" x 6 1/4" and the flower paper is cut at 3 3/4" x 6 1/4". The image is cut at 3" from pink textured cardstock and shadowed with green cardstock. The sentiment words are cut at 1 3/4". This card went together quickly using the cut elements. I embellished with four pearls in each corner of the green paper and a green grosgrain ribbon.

BBTB2 From My Kitchen Tabs Cut
Monday morning and time for a new challenge at BBTB2. Well, this is one of those cuts I never would have noticed if not for our wonderful DeeDee challenging us to use it. From My Kitchen has some recipe cards on the Tabs key that I have noticed and used. I thought this was just a darling cut and would make such a simple and quick card. I made the cut at 3 1/2" from black cardstock and rounded the corners. Then I cut my base card from white cardstock to fit. I did turn the cut so the flowers would be on the right side. I took a small scrap of green paper and placed it behind the cut out flowers to make green stems. Then I used assorted buttons for the flowers. I used a Heidi Swapp stamp for the sentiment. I added a little clip with a bright yellow polka dot ribbon for a simple embellishment. This card took about 15 minutes to make. Just imagine the endless possiblities for sentiments that you could put in that window making this a really versatile cut.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #21
Happy Wednesday and Aloha (again) from the island of Hawaii. My husband and I have been vacationing in this tropical paradise for about a week now and we are having a wonderful time. This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge is for a Get Well card using any cartridge and colors you'd like. I used Beyond Birthdays for my sentiment and Home Decor for my fancy oval it sits in. My dp is Pink Paislee and I used black cardstock. The decorative oval is cut at 4 1/2" and the Get Well sentiment is cut at 2 1/4". This was a quick and easy card to put together. I just added a cream silk ribbon bow, flower and a butterfly charm for embellishment.

BBTB2 Plantin Schoolbook Rick Rack
It's Monday and time for a new challenge at BBTB2. Our wonderful designer Carole has picked this week's cut and it was a great one. She chose the rick rack from the Plantin' Schoolbook cartridge. When I looked at it I immediately thought waves. Of course, that's probably because I've been having lots of Fun in the Sun vacationing in Hawaii and seeing plenty of ocean waves. LOL I cut my rick rack with the fit to length key on at 5 1/2". My sailboat came from Life's A Beach and it's cut at 2 1/2", the sunshine is from Designer's Calendar and also cut at 2 1/2". The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #20

ALOHA everyone. For this Wednesday's challenge at Cricut Cardz Challenge Mary asked us to come up with a Beach or Summer themed card using any cartridge. I absolutely could not resist making my card Hawaiian because as you are reading this my husband and I are on our way to the beautiful tropical islands of Hawaii. We will be vacationing and visiting with our son who is a U.S. Marine stationed at Kaneohe Bay on the island of Oahu. We will spend time visiting with him and his wife, then we will take a trip over to the big island of Hawaii for a little romantic getaway. How exciting is that? For my card I used the Life's A Beach cartridge. My hula girl is cut at 4" and my title word is cut with fit to length on and the size dial at 4. My background paper is from DCWV Summer Stack. I added a little bit of a Stickle bling to finish off the card.

BBTB2 New Arrival-Delivery
Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had an enjoyable holiday weekend with your family. It was a sad and tough weekend for my family. We had a family member that had a stroke and a niece who survived a terrible car crash but her boyfriend didn't. How quickly lives can change. In an instant lives are changed forever. It makes me reflect on the blessings I have been given and be very grateful for them. I'm also very grateful that I have my blog, my happy place, to come to. So onto happier things...it's Monday and a new challenge has been posted at BBTB2. Our Hostess this week is Carla and she chose the Delivery cut from the New Arrival cartridge. My special delivery is arriving via Mr. Stork (also on the New Arrival cartridge). My papers are from DCWV Nursery stack. My baby is cut at 2 3/4" and shadowed with yellow. The stork is cut at 5" and also shadowed with yellow cardstock. The body layer of the stork is embossed with the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder. I went over the raised areas with glue and added glitter. The sentiment tag comes from the All About Babies set at The Cutting Cafe.
