BBTB2 Farm Animal Challenge
Monday again, already and it's the last one in July. Another month of summer gone. How can it be? Well, it's time for a new challenge at BBTB2. This week our fab DT sister, Krista, asked the team to use any farm animal. I needed a thank you card and had the cute Thank Ewe sentiment from Cardz TV Stamps Farmyard Funnies stamp set, so of course, I had to make a sheep. This sheep came from the Everyday Pop Up Cards cartridge and I paired it with the fence from the same cartridge. I added an action wobbler to the back of my sheep so it would look like it was jumping over the fence. Afterwards, I thought that was probably silly. Can a sheep even jump? I have no clue. Oh well, it's made now. LOL I added no layering to this card because it needs to go in the mail and it sure looks boring. Oh well, again I say, it's made now. I hope you can join our BBTB2 challenge this week. Remember you must use a CRICUT cut Farm Animal from any CRICUT cartridge and it must be a new creation, not a back link. Can't wait to see all the different animals on your cards. Also, a reminder, if you want the Design Team to visit your blog and comment you need to have word verification turned off. It makes me so sad when I go for visits and try to leave a comment only to find word verification which is impossible for me to read as I am visually impaired. It really frustrates me because you don't know until you've taken the time to leave a sweet comment and then--boom--all for naught because you can't decipher those silly letters. Now off to the farm you go!

Cardz TV Stamps Anything Goes Challenge
The new Design Team is in place for Mary's Cardz TV Stamps so we're having a challenge. Mary said anything goes this time around. I used the Make A Wish set which is an all around great set for making birthday cards. For my shaped card I used the Cricut Wild Card 2 cartridge. I needed a card for a teenage grandson, which is always a huge struggle for me. I have four teenage grandsons and I just hate when their birthdays roll around and I have to design cards for them. I know I shouldn't admit this, but it's totally true. I thought a birthday cake was a safe image for a teenage boy. They like to eat---RIGHT??? My base card and layers are cut at 5.25". I put it together using all paper scraps from my bin. I keep using those scraps, but I never seem to make a dent in them. LOL One of my favorite things about Mary's Cardz TV stamps is the fact that I can bend the clear photopolymer stamps to fit around anything. As you can see on this card, I placed it to take the shape of the plate the cake is sitting on. I used Momento Rich Cocoa ink for stamping. I'm hoping when my grandson getss the card he'll read the sentiments in the order I put them--first, Make A Wish, then Blow out the candles and on the inside it says Eat Cake! I hope you'll leave a comment telling me whether you think this is an appropriate card for a teenager to put my mind at ease. I stress over the boy cards so much. Thanks for stopping by.

BBTB2 Christmas in July
This week at BBTB2 we're creating for Christmas. It's so much fun to get a head start on those Christmas cards. Every year I say I'm not going to wait to the last minute and I get better every year, but it seems I'm always rushing for more at the end. I usually make at least 50 of my cards all different designs. I decided I'm going to mass produce this year. I've got my mass production card all designed out and saved in my Gypsy and it's pretty simplistic, but for my Design Team card this week it's a different card. I was looking through my Christmas papers and found this cute little post card in a stack from last years 25 Days of Christmas by Simple Stories. I knew it was perfect to go along with one of the houses on the Jolly Holidays cartridge and my sentiment from Cardz TV Stamps Home for Christmas stamp set. The house is cut at 3.75". Other than cutting and assembling the house the rest of the card was made using papers and design elements from the paper stack.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #112 Tag You're It
Hi Everyone! Gosh, it's been awhile since I posted two cards in one week. There was a bit of a hiatus from Cricut Cardz Challenge but we're back this week with Challenge #112-Tag You're It. I suppose it's self-explanatory, use a tag from any Cricut cartridge and it can be any theme and any colors. I've been working on sending some cards to some of our friends from our winter campground in Florida. I had this scrap of typewriter paper and thought I'd pair it with the sweet stamp from the Cardz TV Stamps set called Ticket Talk 2. My tag is from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. My flower is from Lacy Labels.

BBTB2 Fashion Challenge
It's Monday and that means it time for a new challenge at BBTB2. This week's cut was chosen by one of our newer DT members, Rebekah. She asked us to design with the theme Fashion and we could choose a cut from any Cricut cartridge. I used Forever Young which is an older cartridge, but it doesn't get better if you want a fashion cut. I used My Mind's Eye patterned papers on this card. It took me four tries before I got that dress cut with the beautiful flowers where I wanted them. I don't know where my head was but certainly not on where my paper was placed on my mat. But, once I got it I was so happy with the way the dress turned out. I also used the same cartridge for my words along the left edge of the card. I made my lacy flower in the corner by hand gathering a piece of vintage lace I found in my lace box. I don't usually do cards with a vintage look but I think this is passable. I think the paper did most of the work for me, which is cheating a little. I hope you'll get a chance to play along with us this week. You can find lots of inspiration from our BBTB2 Design Team this week from cards to 3-D projects, to scrap pages to get you started. Make sure you included a Cricut cut that will fit the fashion theme, but you may use any cartridge. Your creation must also be new and not a back link. Please remember, if you would like the DT to visit your blog and comment on your entry you must have word verification turned off. Thanks so much for coming by today and for your sweet comments.

BBTB2 Window to My World challenge
I'm getting a head start on my Christmas cards this year. When our very talented DT sister, Brenda, asked us to create a project using a window cut from any Cricut cartridge I knew exactly what I was going to make. I used the window from the Christmas Solutions cartridge. My wreath in the window came from the same cartridge. I decided it would look best as a shaped card so I used the shadow cut and welded two of them together using my Gypsy. Whenever I make a shaped card I place another shadow cut on top of the base before placing the other layers on. This hides the fold and makes the card more sturdy. I cut the card base and layers at 5.25". The wreath is cut at 2.25" and I added a few red rhinestones for a little bling. My sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps.

BBTB2 Here Comes the Sun Challenge
I can't believe it's time for the 4th of July festivities this week. Geez, summer is flying by and I hope you're all enjoying some fabulous sunshine and warmth wherever you are. I'm very excited because my daughter and two granddaughters will be joining us at the camper for some fun 4th of July activities. The town we stay in has a fabulous 4th of July parade that the kids are going to love. They'll have so much fun down on the beach and will enjoy wrapping it up with a fabulous firework display over Lake Huron. We are officially honoring that bright ball in the sky this week at BBTB2. Our talented DT sister, Suzanne, asked us to create a project with a sun from any Cricut cartridge. I used the Pack Your Bags cartridge. I've been working on getting the cobwebs dusted off some of the cartridges I never use. This cartridge falls into that category. I always love it when I can use a card feature from a cartridge. It makes it quick and easy to put a card together. I used Bazzill Dotted yellow cardstock for my sunshine and my background paper is My Mind's Eye. My sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps Fun in the Sun stamp set. Hope you get a chance to join our challenge at BBTB2 this week and have a fabulous 4th of July.
