The Cutting Cafe Back to School Project


I can hardly believe we're talking Back to School time. The summer is almost over (unless you're like me and live in a warm climate state). I live in Florida in a retirement community. We tend to think of having two seasons here-"Snow Bird" season and "the rest of the time". The end of summer, for me, signals a return of all our northern friends to our little community. I love the slow pace of summer and the quiet mornings where I can enjoy our lanai and listen to the birds while I drink my coffee.

For my Cutting Cafe project today I used the Pencil Shaped Card. When we lived back in Michigan we had a ritual of taking our grandkids to the store to pick out a school outfit, get a few school supplies and treat them to lunch. It's one of the few things I miss from our previous life. Now that we aren't close enough to take the kids out we will usually slip a gift card in the mail so they can still go shopping for a new outfit from "nana and pop". I decided the Pencil card would be perfect to slip a gift card into. I happened to have a gift card pocket die so I quickly zipped one out of my Cuttlebug and attached it to the inside of the card and added a sentiment. For photo purposes I stuck in a gift card I already had, but now I'm going to run to Target for a gift card. My daughter works at Target so with her discount the kids will get the most bang for their buck, or I should say gift card. Thanks for coming by. Paper Sweeties August 2016 Release Rewind


Welcome to the last day of Paper Sweeties August release fun. Yesterday I showed a card using the Window Sweet Cuts and used it to make a door. Today's card was made using the Window Sweet Cuts again, but this time I used it to make a fun, cool summer treat popsicle. I simply cut white cardstock with the die and then masked off three sections using Post-It tape and inked them up. I hand cut a couple of popsicle sticks from kraft cardstock and added them to complete the popsicle look. To finish it off I added a twine bow and a tag cut from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts. That wraps up the look at this month's inspiration using the new release products-Window, Window Sweet Cuts, Window Elements and Window Elements Sweet Cuts. Paper Sweeties August 2016 Release Party


Hello Paper Sweeties, friends! I'm excited to share my card with you using products that are released today and available for purchase in the Paper Sweeties Shop right now. Today's release includes the Window, Window Sweet Cuts, Window Elements and Window Elements Sweet Cuts. I made the window into a door with some strategic die cutting. I love how it turned out. I decorated it with a pretty floral wreath from the Hello Spring stamp set and Hello Spring Sweet Cuts. The sentiment is from Hello Spring, also, and I stamped it on the banner from Hello Friend Sweet Cuts. I used my Mini Misti to curve the stamp to fit the curve of the banner. Paper Sweeties August 2016 Release Sneak Peeks


Welcome to the start of this month's Paper Sweeties Release Sneak Peeks. Wait until you see this month's release, it's totally fabulous.  This release includes the Window and Window Sweet Cuts, Window Elements and Window Element Sweet Cuts. Those little stitched rectangles are a sneak peek from the Window Elements Sweet Cuts.  I added bright, fun-colored flowers to each rectangle that I cut with the Paper Sweeties Hello Spring Sweet Cuts. I went simple with this card, not adding any embellishments because it's going in the mail to a friend. The sentiment is from the Hello Friend Stamp set and stamped on one of the shapes from the Sweet Banner Sweet Cuts. You can follow the links below to get more inspiration from the Design Team.

Paper Sweeties August Planner Series


Hello Friends! It's time to share my August monthly planner spread for Paper Sweeties Planner Series. I absolutely love how this month's spread came out, I think it might be my favorite. I'm just totally in love with the washi tape that I picked to go with this month's Happy Planner color scheme. It's perfect with the green and the yellow made me think of bees so I decided to go with an insect theme and used the Paper Sweeties Bee Happy stamp set and Sweet Cuts to make my adorable little bugs and touches of greenery. I stamped all my insects on yellow and green printed paper from a Doodlebugs 6x6 paper stack. Here's a closer look at my right hand page. You can see that I paper pieced my butterfly by stamping it on both green and yellow patterned paper. Then I hand trimmed the yellow piece to fit on the green. I cut the greenery out of a green patterned paper, a solid green and vellum then clustered them together and added a hemp bow. I added the sentiments from the stamp set using Here's the buzz in the first box and Bee Happy right above the bee die cut.


For the right hand page I added a small butterfly stamp from the Tree of Life Spring Stamp set to the corner of the page. I used the Planner Series Celebrate to stamp a present around the August 11th date to denote a friend's birthday. I added the lady bug and the dragonfly and a few more sprigs of greenery to the bottom corner. I used the pretty green and yellow washi to mark all my Design Team assignments for the month and stamped my appointments and events using yellow chalk ink.

Paper Sweeties 4th Birthday Celebration


Welcome to the Paper Sweeties Birthday Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from the Paper Sweeties Blog. It is such an honor to be a part of the awesome and amazing Design Team. It was truly a special day when I found the Paper Sweeties booth at our local Stampfest. Little did I know that my first purchase there, from Debbie, would bring me to where I am today as part of her fourth birthday celebration. For my card today I used lots of different Paper Sweetie stamps and Sweet Cuts and you will find them linked below. It wouldn't be a proper Paper Sweeties birthday card without adding one of Debbie's signature Sweeties, Miss Abigail. I dressed her up in a pink party dress and gave her a present and some balloons. The Cutting Cafe Summer Christmas Project


Welcome to this summer's Cutting Cafe Christmas post. We're a little bit late to the Christmas in July craze, but that's okay. There is still some summertime left to get a jump on your Christmas projects. I love to give out little treats (think chocolate) to our friends and neighbors for the holidays. This will be my giveaway this holiday season. I used the Snowman Treat Box. I actually used the PDF file this time around and fussy cut my snowman pieces, except for the buttons, mouth and eyes, which I used a circle punches for. I will, however, get out my cutting machine and use the SVG file to mass produce these from here on out. Paper Sweeties August 2016 Inspiration Challenge


I know I've said this for the last four months but, wow, how did it get to be August. It's time for a new Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge and the photo this month is so pretty, it just makes me want to have a tea party. August is a special month for Paper Sweeties celebrating four years of fun stamps and dies. So thank you for joining us for the start of a super fun month with inspiration, challenges giveaways, contests and prizes. You're definitely going to want to join in with this challenge because this month's challenge winner will be receiving a $100 gift card to spend in the Paper Sweeties store.


I drew inspiration from the beautiful colors and the cake plates with yummy goodies on them. I really love my cute background paper I found in my stash. I've recently been unpacking boxes that were in storage after we sold our house. Now that we are settled in a new home, in a new state I'm finding all kinds of goodies I'd forgotten about. I found a bunch of older DCWV paper mat stacks and one of them had this background paper that I thought was perfect. I used Paper Sweeties Eat Cake stamp set and Sweet Cut dies for my cake plate and added cupcakes from the Planner Series Celebrate stamp set. I colored the cupcakes with Copics and then added some Clear Wink of Stella to give them a little sparkle. For my sentiment I stamped "Hey, Cupcake" from the Sweetie Pie Stamp Set. I cut the sentiment apart so I could stamp it across my banner from Paper Sweeties Sweet Banner Sweet Cuts. To finish the card off I added Paper Sweeties Sugar Sprinkle sequins.
